S.Cushnie Presents Not Doing Enough!

Today is October 18th, 2017, yesterday was the NYC Influencers Preview hosted by CreativesMX.  If you haven’t seen my YouTube video blog about the party click the link above.  Hopefully, you did so that you’re able to understand what I’m about to say here.

Not Doing Enough!

I spoke to this African American man with dreads at the event.  That man really had myself thinking about how I work?  As a young African American man born and raised in Newburgh New York I haven’t seen too many African American superstars in the community.  If you understand where I’m coming here!  The way this guy was talking to me, I felt really small next to him.  He was also from the suburbs but I see that this man was on something else.  I wish I remembered this man’s name.

S.Cushnie Presents

Anyway, I won’t get into the details of our conversation!  Watch my video blog for more context of my conversation, but I can say I needed that.  I needed that talk, I needed for my eyes to be opened to a truth.  The truth is I have been using my disabilities as an excuse for my lack of professionalism.  If I really want to be great I have to work!  I have to be on point with myself, I never want to feel small like the way I felt that night.  I want to thank that man for being on point like that.

INFJ Talk Ghost Mode Erik Thor (Response)

As you already know I’m an INFJ and I love to learn as much as I can about my personality trait. So I started following this guy named Erik Thor. I really enjoy his content about INFJs and he came up with a topic called Ghost Mode which I’ll be discussing with you.

INFJ Talk Ghost Mode Erik Thor (Response)

Let’s get straight to the point! Now, Ghost Mode, in a nutshell, is just how INFJs like to disappear. I totally agree with his concept here because I am one of those INFJ’s that love to have their own space. If you try to take me away from my comfort of my own space I will be seriously annoyed and unpleasant to be around! Erik goes into further detail stating examples such as social media or friendships and how INFJs deals with them. I’m about to explain to you how I deal with those two examples that Erik gave us.

INFJ Talk Ghost Mode Erik Thor (Response)

First, social media, if you don’t know me in real life you probably will never know exactly what I have going on in my life. Why? Because I’m an introvert, plus I like my space and with having my space a lot of times. I don’t tell you when I want my space I just do it. If you aren’t my friend then I can understand you not liking that and if you are my friend I can understand you not liking that but my friends understand me and allow me to be me. I understand that it’s not the easiest thing to get but you’re hearing it from the horse’s mouth.

Second, friendships/relationships, pretty much is the same thing as social media if you are my friend then you kind of let me just be me. And in saying that I butt heads with my friends sometimes because I allow everybody to speak their mind and truly tell me how they feel. This isn’t easy for me because a lot of times I want to correct people for how they feel if I feel like their feelings are wrong but who am I to say that anybody’s feelings are wrong, so I bite my tongue a lot and just listen but at the end of the day nothing really changes because this is who I am. I love my space and sometimes I feel like I don’t need an explanation on why I want my space even though a lot of people want me to explain myself I just don’t.

So after reading this hopefully you get a better understanding about me and other INFJs. Because we are a rare breed in society but this might be able to teach you how to deal with people in general because everybody is emotional and everybody isn’t on your level literally your level is for you not for the next person so think about that when the next time you have a conversation with another person!

Okay, if you haven’t seen my video blog on this topic! Then I suggest you watch that as well. Link right above!

How Did I Like It? Why I Love Video Games so Much?

Why does Shawn Cushnie love video games so much? Because it was my only friend at one point in my life when I was growing up. When I moved to the town of Newburgh in New York, I wasn’t highly favored by my neighbors. One of my neighbor that was raised to be racist towards African-Americans.  I had a pure soul. I always would try to play with my neighbors but it always winds up getting ugly. My father would tell me numerous of times “do not go and play with those kids they don’t like you”. (Before I go to next paragraph I would like to shout out my father because I had a dad growing up.)

Why I Love Video Games

My father would always coming down the street to talk to the parents about how their kids were treating me. My dad is from the city and he knew that I wasn’t like him. I wasn’t going to go and beat everybody up because that’s not how I was raised. One day after my dad came home from work he gave me a gift and that gift was the PlayStation. Funny thing is I had no idea what a PlayStation was. I never saw a commercial about it. I was shocked! Never would have thought that a PlayStation would be my friend and changed my life. (Like I said watch the video blog to give more context.)

S.Cushnie Presents Special Ed. Loser Kid

I have been thinking about this title for a while now and I don’t know if anyone can understand where I’m coming from with this one. But I finally realized that I’m a real negative person, I can never pat myself on the back when I do something right but I can tell myself off when I do something wrong. It’s because of how I was raised, being a special ed student my whole schooling life. Never once did I hear in my household that I could get out of it or that I was smart for something. I told myself that I was good enough but I grew older the self-talk turned into doubt and misery.

Special Ed.

Self-doubt; secretly hate myself are trying to be positive. Being programmed to hate me for everything. Being dyslexic, being black, how my body looks. I’m just so afraid of myself. I never have anything nice to say to myself, funny, because I rather push people around that actually want to say nice things to my face. I love misery, I love the negatively at this point, it’s my mask, it’s my life, it’s my everything. Literally I am the enemy, the ultimate best villain to my fake super hero story.

Loser Kid

If I was a hero then I would love see myself win the war that I fight with myself every other day, the battle never stops. It’s never good, just gets worse! I don’t know if this darkness will ever leave me alone, I guess it always has a place in my soul…

Hip Hop Culture Talk | Nav vs. bladee (Who started the “sound”)

Hip Hop Culture Talk | Nav vs. bladee

(Link to video blog)

Hip Hop Culture Talk Nav vs. Bladee has been a heated discussion on my YouTube channel which is Shawn Cushnie! Go and subscribe to my YouTube channel, anyway Nav has came out with a project with Metro Boomin, this guy is a melodic auto-tune user, but as I was listening to him the first thing that came to my mind was bladee!

If you don’t know who bladee is, he is an artist from Sweden, if you remember Yung Lean he formed a group called Sad Boys and he’s a part of that. Bladee has this erie, distinct emo vibe to his music. Over the years it has gotten better and he has his own sound. It’s very distinct you can tell when bladee is on the track.

I’m sure most of you that are reading this know who Nav is but if you don’t then he is an artist from Canada. The Weeknd signed him to his label XO records. This man also has a melodic auto-tune flow, but with his dark, erie, distinct emo sound.

The Twist is that it’s coming from a mainstream perspective; this is for the person that’s going for the money, cars, women, and drugs. The typical content that you would hear from a typical rapper.

Compare and contrast

Honestly the only difference between these two artists is there content.  Bladee speaks for the ordinary person, somebody that might be depressed in a sense this artist is a poet on a Beat. If you are born in the 90s then you know when you was in high school and middle school you had “gothic” kids, as you know these kids listen to emo music.

Nowadays that style of music isn’t popular. it’s not a trend or just straight up no longer exist. Instead of having emo rock there is emo hip hop and bladee with his auto-tune delivery can be the forefront of that sound.

Even though that Nav has the same sound he isn’t speaking to the ordinary person. Nav’s speaking on the behalf of the SoundCloud rapper or the person that can afford that type of lifestyle of the money cars jewelry; the typical rapper lifestyle. So who started the sound? If you’re a casual rap listener, you’re going to say Nav because of his mainstream success, forgetting about who really originated that sound.
